Hagar Facing Debut at Talladega Short Track This Saturday with USCS

Inside Line Promotions – MARION, Ark. (Oct. 6, 2015) – Derek Hagar is hopeful the weather forecast for this weekend stays positive.

Hagar plans to compete on Saturday at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Ala., with the USCS Series.

“I’ve never been there so it’s a new race track for us,” he said. “I’m pretty excited to go there. Every time we’ve tried to go there it’s been rained out.”

Hagar is seeking his seventh USCS triumph of the season and his 12th win overall this year. He enters the weekend having earned 14 podium finishes in his last 15 races.

“Momentum is on our side,” he said. “I don’t know much about Talladega. I believe it’s pretty high banked. It has red dirt and is pretty dusty. They say it usually rubbers up so we’ll see how the track conditions are.”

Hagar was slated to compete last Saturday at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., during the Fall Nationals. However, the event was rained out prior to the heat races.

“We got hot laps in and it started drizzling,” he said. “Hopefully the weather cooperates this weekend and we can contend for another win.”
