Inside Line Promotions – BURLISON, Tenn. (Nov. 10, 2015) – Brandon Hanks is itching to return to Victory Lane and there’s no better time to accomplish that feat than this weekend.
Hanks will wrap up his season this Friday and Saturday at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., where his David Smith Racing team will compete during the USCS Fall Nationals.
“Now that we’ve found speed I hate for the season to end,” he said. “We’re really starting to click. We just need some luck. If we keep on having the speed we’ve had here lately surely at some point luck will kick in.”
Hanks is hopeful that combination will come together this weekend at the quarter-mile oval, where Hanks recorded his first career 360ci sprint car feature win in 2012.
“I won this race three years ago,” he said. “I did actually have some luck that night. They had two main events with the second being inverted. In the first feature the brakes went out in the car. I was so tight and couldn’t turn the car. If someone was going to pass me I’d let them go. That worked out in our favor and I started on the front row of the second race. We got the brakes fixed and the track was rubber down. I was great in the second feature. We ran away with it then. That was some luck we actually had for a change.”
Hanks has only competed at Riverside International Speedway twice this year. However, he garnered a podium finish during his most recent race there.
“I like that Riverside will be our last race,” he said. “It’s so close to the house and I’ve raced there probably more than I’ve raced anywhere. Even if I wasn’t racing I’d go there to watch. Hopefully it’ll be a great weekend.”
