Inside Line Promotions – MARION, Ark. (April 25, 2017) – Derek Hagar is venturing to Tennessee this weekend to tackle the USCS Thunder in the Smokies doubleheader with the USCS Series.

Hagar will compete on Friday at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater and on Saturday at Smokey Mountain Speedway in Maryville.

He placed third last year during his debut at I-75 Raceway.

“It’s a round race track and it doesn’t really have a straightaway,” he said. “It races really weird. We just couldn’t seem to get a handle on it. Hopefully we can go there this year and try a couple of things that work.”

Hagar was victorious at Smokey Mountain Speedway last season.

“I think we’ve won twice at Smokey Mountain in two career races,” he said. “It’s a big momentum race track. You get your car good and straight and motor on.”

Hagar was unable to compete last weekend during the Bull Ring Outlaw Blitz with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., and at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., with the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget Series because of inclement weather.
