Inside Line Promotions – MARYVILLE, Tenn. (May 3, 2017) – Seth Bergman is bound for Texas this weekend to tackle an ASCS Gulf South Region doubleheader.
Bergman will compete on Friday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco for the 2nd annual Gene Adamchik Memorial before racing on Saturday at Gator Motorplex in Willis for the 5th annual Nolan Wren Memorial.
“We’re certainly chomping at the bit to get our first win of the season so hopefully we can deliver a win or two this weekend,” he said. “We don’t have many laps at either track, but we’ve won at Heart O’ Texas so that is a boost of confidence for us.”
Bergman was victorious at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in 2015 and he earned a third-place result at the track in 2012. Bergman scored a career-best fifth-place finish at Gator Motorplex in 2012.
The team is coming off a busy weekend of traveling to Alabama and Tennessee. Bergman kicked off the action last Friday at Deep South Speedway in Loxley, Ala., where he charged from sixth to third place during an ASCS Southern Outlaw Sprints heat race. That earned him a spot in the feature redraw, in which he pulled the highest number – eight – to start the main event on the outside of the fourth row.
Unfortunately, a driver who started in front of him spun in front of the field on the opening lap and collected Bergman as well as numerous other cars. Bergman was unable to restart the race and he was credited with a 17th-place result.
The team ventured to Smoky Mountain Speedway on Saturday for a USCS Series event. Bergman finished third in a heat race before starting the feature on the inside of the fourth row. He battled for a top 10 throughout the feature before ending 11th.
