Inside Line Promotions – OCALA, Fla. (Nov. 14, 2017) – Trey Starks produced a pair of stout performances last weekend during a USCS Series doubleheader at Bubba Raceway Park.

Starks led the Gobrecht Motorsports team to its third win of the season on Friday during the opening round before charging from 14th to fifth to cap Saturday’s finale.

“It was a very successful weekend and is a good way to end our 2017 season,” Starks said. “We had a fast race car and we showed it. There were a lot of great drivers down there including Terry McCarl, Greg Wilson, Mark Smith and Danny Smith along with the regular top USCS drivers so for us to win and earn a top five during the two nights was an accomplishment.”

The weekend began on Friday with Starks advancing from fourth to second place in a heat race. That put him in a good position in points going into the main event, which landed with the inversion lining Starks up on the pole.

“We caught a break with getting the pole position because the track was predominately around the bottom,” he said. “We took advantage and got the lead right away. I knew I couldn’t miss my marks and get off the bottom so I tried to be patient. Getting through traffic can be tricky when the track is like that, but everything worked in our favor.”

Starks led the distance to score the triumph.

The team returned to the oval on Saturday and kicked off the season finale by finishing where they started – fourth – in a dash. Starks then advanced from sixth to fourth place in a heat race, which lined him up on the outside of the seventh row for the main event.

“There were a couple of early crashes we made our way through and then I just tried to pick my way through the field as best I could,” he said. “We ended up working our way into the top five by the checkered flag, which was a good finish for the team and our season.”

Starks maneuvered from 14th to fifth place to earn the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.
