Gray leads O'Reilly USCS standings after Speedweek 2007 Championship

Atlanta, GA - After several outstanding performances during last week's O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series Speedweek 2007 Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee leads the O'Reilly USCS National point standings through the first fourteen events by a wide margin over twenty year-old Ryan Myers from Eaton, Ohio in the runner-up spot. Nineteen year-old, 2004 O'Reilly USCS Rookie of the Year R.J. Johnson from Tampa, Florida is in the third position.

Gray who is the defending series Champion had finishes that included two wins, (at Malden Speedway and Clarksville Speedway) two finishes in the runner-up spot (at Camden Speedway and Columbus Speedway) and two more fourth place runs during the week. He only had one finish outside the top ten in the seven events held over nine nights.

Three-time (2004-2006) series Championship runner-up, Danny Martin, Jr. from Sarasota, Florida has moved from way back in the standings (after the twenty-one year-old driver missing several early season events) into the fourth position just three points behind Johnson. Barely sixteen year old 2006 O'Reilly USCS rookie of the Year Derek Hagar from Marion, Arkansas is now in the fifth position in the National rankings.

Past O'Reilly USCS Champion, Marshall Skinner from West Memphis, Arkansas ranks sixth in the standings just thirteen points South of Hagar's total. Raymond Stull from Coldwater, Mississippi is seventh in the national standings. Eighteen year-old Don Young from Bartlett, Tennessee had an outstanding Speedweek 2007 series and moved into eighth place in the rankings. Kenny Adams from Malabar, Florida is ninth place in the National standings and Michael Craddock from Olive Branch, Mississippi earns the tenth place spot.

Five of the driver in the top ten are veterans and five are Hoosier Tire Young Guns (drivers under 25 years-old). The next point earning opportunity comes on Friday June 15th at Penton Raceways www.pentonraceways.com in Penton, Alabama. That event will be followed the next evening on Saturday night June 16th in the 11th Annual Alabama Sprint Car Nationals at East Alabama Motor Speedway www.eamsdirt.com in Phenix City, Alabama.
